Day 7: March 23, 2023
Switzerland at it’s best: Lucerne! What a beautiful city on the banks of the river Reuss, with breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains in the background. We started with an orientation walk to the Lion’s monument (unfortunately it was covered for restauration), explored the old streets and squares with wonderfully painted houses, visited the beautiful Jesuit Church and crossed the river on the wooden Kapell-Bridge. Of course, we had some time for Swiss style shopping: the best chocolate of the world and Swiss army knives. In the afternoon we topped the day with our visit to Mt. Pilatus. Three sections of gondolas took us to the summit (7000ft). Some time to enjoy a late swiss lunch, to climb the Dragon Trail and to take some magnificent views of the lakes and snowcapped mountains. Later we descended back to Lucerne, time to head back to our hotel for a little walk at the lake and for dinner.
