Day 8: April 4, 2013
Today we left Fes and drove towards our destination Casablanca. Around one hour after we left we stopped to see Meknes, a beautiful little town with a very nice fortress built in the 9th century. After having some minutes of free time for drinks and restrooms, we continued our drive until we reached Rabat. We stopped in the city center for lunch and afterwards, we drove around this nice city, the capital of Morocco. We saw some very nice properties, housing embassies and residences of rich people, we also drove past the Royal palace, or official residence of the King, very big and impressive. We also stopped to visit the mausoleum dedicated to the former king Mohamed V, also very beautiful and nicely kept. We then continued saw the city’s main castle which was in very good state of preservation as well. After this, we went on until we finally reached Casablanca, but we had to face some very heavy traffic before we got to our hotel. We checked in for a while and then enjoyed dinner in our hotel.
