We all arrived safely to sunny Berlin. Once dropping off our luggage we had a chance to experience the city up close on a walking tour. We started at Alexanderplatz -the square which was once a monument to communism now looks a bit more like a shopping mecca. From there we crossed over onto museum island, took in the wonderful Berlin Dome and saw the place where the Nazi's did one of the book-burnings and visited one of the most beautiful town squares in all of Europe. Our walking tour also included the German memorial to the Victims of War and Tyranny. We still had some time left so we took a fun boat trip through historical Berlin on the river Spree. After all that touring we really deserved out sleep!
