So... Europe! Our arrival day in Amsterdam saw the first group of us landing early in the morning, meet the TD and shooting into town for a walk around this magnificent city. All the people (and their bikes!!!) seem friendly and we love the relaxed atmosphere that seems to pervade even the alleyways of the... RED LIGHT DISTRICT. This is in fact our first "stop" after Dam square, and we can't help but being impressed at the furore surrounding this area: after all, it's just beautiful girls modeling bikinis, isn't it? :-) We walk on to Waterlooplein for a bit of free time and shopping, before our TD leaves us to go pick up the second group at the airport. The second group... unlike the first, lucky 6, the TD has an evil plan in mind for us: tire us out. He starts straightaway, helped by the breakdown of the tram, by suggesting (and making it happen) a SEVERAL miles long walk towards the city center. Once we reach Museum plein the tram is "back on track" and so we hop on it and meet with the smaller group in the city center. From there, we go for our pancake dinner that proves very satisfying and eventually... HOME! MOst of us have lost track of the time and do not know what time it is where anymore. All we know is we are dead tired. Time to sleep (after the phone calls home...). Goede nacht!
