Best of the British Isles

We started our journey north this morning and headed to the most northerly county in England, Cumbria. This is the English lake district and we made our first stop at poet William Wordsworth's home, Rydal Mount. Wordsworth's best known poem is 'Daffodils'. After this visit we went to Grasmere, a typical Cumbrian village. We visited Sarah Nelson's gingerbread house, where gingerbread has been made to the same recipe for 250 years. Of course we had to sample some. We briefly crossed the border into Scotland for dinner at Gretna Green before going to our hotel in Carlisle back in England. Tomorrow we head back to Scotland.
