Scotland & Ireland

April 11, 2019  -  April 20, 2019

We left Scotland this morning and took the ferry to Northern Ireland, the provinces that is part of the United Kingdom. We arrived in Belfast and travelled straight to the north Antrim Coast to visit the Giants' Causeway. This geological formation was caused by rapidly cooling volcanic lava as it hit the cold water of the sea. Local tradition has it that Finn McCool, an Irish giant and Bennandonna, a Scottish giant argued so much that Benandonna tore up the causeway between Ireland and Scotland to save himself from Finn McCool. Today part of the causeway is seen on the north Antrim Coast and the other part on one of the Scottish islands. We had dinner in our hotel this evening. Tomorrow we explore Belfast and then head to Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.
