Culture, shopping and scenery beckon as you make your way through the charming streets of Reykjavik. From the boutiques and cafes of Laugavegur, to a walk along the grounds of Iceland’s “White House”, your Icelandic experience won’t soon be forgotten. You’ll catch a glimpse of history at the Hofdi House, where Reagan and Gorbachev held their famous summit in 1986. And you’ll take in the majestic beauty of this captivating city and surrounding mountains from the viewing deck at The Hallgrimskirkja Church.
Day 3 Reykjavik--South Shore

Built upon a collection of geothermally active volcanic hot springs, Hveragerdi offers visitors a truly unique experience. With occasional earthquakes (of the minor variety) rattling the area, you’ll be surprised and amazed to watch the locals go about their daily business as if nothing were amiss. Populated with an abundance of greenhouses, the area is well known for its fresh produce and vibrant flora.

Along the south coast of Iceland, Dryholaey provides spectacular views of some of nature’s most astounding expressions. One can’t help but be taken in by the big glacier Mýrdalsjökull to the north, while the black lava columns of Reynisdrangar jut out of the sea to fight for your attention.

Formed over thousands of years by the continuous blending of volcanic fire and glacial water, Skaftafell National Park is home to striking mountains, glacial lagoons, raging waterfalls, and some of Iceland’s most agreeable weather. But perhaps its most impressive feature is the Vatnajokull Ice Cap—the largest glacier in Iceland. It is here that, on one of the many sunny days the area is known for, you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the world’s longest sight line, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

    Day 7 Reykjavik--Stykkisholmur
    Travel to the Snaefellsnes peninsula
    Details: Vidgelmir Cave visit
    At 148,000 cubic meters, Víðgelmir is the largest cave in Iceland and one of the largest lava caves in the world. It has beautiful ice formations and deep inside there are lava stalactites and stalagmites. Bones and jewelry from the Viking age are part of the archeological remains found in the cave in 1993, prompting its preservation.

    Get ready for a truly unique experience. You will get the opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy one of the world’s greatest wilderness—Iceland’s second largest glacier—from the inside! You’ll get to drive in a specially modified glacier vehicles on the glacier, explore the glacier environment, enjoy a view out of this world and go into the glacier to experience its beauty from the inside including the beautiful blue ice at the heart of the ice cap glacier. An experienced guide will lead the way the whole time to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves to the fullest.

    Details: Snaefellsnes peninsula excrusion
    With a crashing coastline, natural hot pools, basalt columns formed by cooling lava, volcanoes, and glaciers, the Snaefellsnes Peninsula encapsulates just about everything Iceland is known for within a 90-kilometer-long peninsula. This excursion includes a visit to the Gerduberg basalt columns, one of the longest stretches of basalt columns in Iceland. You’ll also see Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge, a stunning rock formation where you can climb into the crack where a small stream runs out from further up on the rocks. The excursion culminates at Kirkjufell or the Church Mountain. You’ll often see Kirkjufell depicted on postcards as it is common to see the Northern Lights dancing above the cone-shaped peak when weather conditions cooperate.
