The calendar features a new country (or state!) and an international holiday or event for you to celebrate with your students each month.\u00a0Download<\/a>\u00a0a new page every month on this blog (and\u00a0subscribe<\/a>!), hang it up in your classroom, and talk to your students about how the holiday reflects the country\u2019s history and culture.<\/p>\n To kick off the new decade, this January, we are featuring Austria<\/a>! This country has so much history that has defined our world. One of the world\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>best<\/span>–<\/span>known<\/span>\u00a0classical composers, Wolfgang\u00a0<\/span>Amedaeus<\/span>\u00a0Mozart, was born in\u00a0<\/span>Stralzburg<\/span>, Austria on January 27<\/span>th<\/span>, 1756<\/span>. It is also considered the birthplace of Protestantism and is home to many wonderful castles and mountains!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When students participate in our Switzerland, Bavaria, & Austria<\/a> tours, they will see the Golden\u00a0<\/span>Roof, a royal balcony built in 1496.
