The Globe Education Practitioners\u00a0will give you a \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d look\u00a0at the world\u2019s most famous playwright\u00a0and what went on in his playhouse in\u00a0the 1600s. Shakespeare\u2019s Globe, a replica\u00a0built in 1997, is a mere 700 feet from the\u00a0site of the original Globe Theatre, and\u00a0both overlook the waters of the Thames.\u00a0Grab seats in the stands for a bird\u2019s-eye\u00a0view, or be a \u201cgroundling\u201d and occupy the\u00a0standing room in the pit directly in front\u00a0of the stage, once costing just a penny in\u00a0Elizabethan London.<\/p>\n
