Jana, drama teacher<\/p><\/div>\n

Jana had a specific vision for the kind\u00a0of trip she wanted to lead. \u201cI went to\u00a0New York City when I was in junior\u00a0high and it changed my life,\u201d she\u00a0explains. \u201cIf just one of my students\u00a0had an experience like that, it would be\u00a0worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jana began researching student tours, but was\u00a0quickly disillusioned. \u201cEvery company had almost the\u00a0exact same trip,\u201d she recalls. \u201cThey were all just a few\u00a0days, with only one Broadway show. If I was going\u00a0to bring my students all the way to New York from\u00a0Oklahoma, I wanted to be there for a while and take in\u00a0a few performances.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then she called Explorica. \u201cI remember my consultant\u00a0saying, \u2018You tell me your dream trip\u2014every place you want to go, everything you want to see,\u00a0how long you want to be there\u2014and I\u2019ll crunch the\u00a0numbers.\u2019 It was such a revelation; no other company\u00a0had offered that to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just seven months after that first phone call, Jana gave\u00a028 students the trip of a lifetime. She now has five\u00a0tours under her belt and is planning numbers six and\u00a0seven. \u201cOne time we were able to get a backstage tour\u00a0of Radio City Music Hall with the Rockettes,\u201d she\u00a0recalls. \u201cAll the students were crying! Another time,\u00a0I discovered that one of the performers in \u201cOn the\u00a0Twentieth Century\u201d was from our town, so I asked my\u00a0program consultant if he could get us tickets. It wasn\u2019t\u00a0one of the options, but he pulled some strings and got\u00a0us in. The actress, Kristin Chenoweth, was so touched\u00a0that she met up with us after the show and sang with\u00a0my students.
