A once suppressed provincial town of the British crown, Dublin flourished and townsmen began to build the beautiful Georgian homes that still exist today. In order to set themselves apart amongst the uniformly built homes, residents began to paint their front doors a bright, bold color of choice. Although many homes were destroyed in the 1950s in an effort to rid the city of its colonial past, the Georgians that remain have become a landmark of a proud, colorful culture. One of the most vivid collections of doors can be found at Merrion Square, once home to authors, Oscar Wilde<\/a> and W.B.
