In this small fishing village, she spent her time befriending local Garifuna people and embracing their rich culture, history, and music. In addition to dancing and dining with the villagers, Ashley went on as many excursions and adventures as possible. Of these activities, her favorites were snorkeling in the Ambergris Caye, cave tubing, riding horses through the jungle, viewing the Great Blue Hole, and exploring the famous Xunantunich Mayan ruins. She used her spare time to learn about the extensive wildlife around her (like howler monkeys and toucans!) and to swim in the gorgeous Caribbean sea. Ashley\u2019s favorite Belizean dish was fry jacks dipped in Belizean beans with Marie Sharp\u2019s hot sauce on top.
