    Travel to Santos

    Details: Volunteer activities
    The group can pick from a range of activities within the rural community of Santos. Activities include painting at the local school, preparing a garden, restoration by the river banks, garbage collection or construction restoration in the school or church. These activities not only help the community but give students the opportunity to experience life in a Costa Rican rural community.
  • Day 3 Santos Day of Service
    Details: Bio Coffee Adventure
    The biocoffee tour entails experiencing the full organic coffee process, from the fields to the processing plant. The tour includes walks through both shade & sun grown coffee with true Costa Rican coffee experts & farmers

  • Day 4 Santos--Coastal Puntarenas
    Details: Travel to Coastal Puntarenas by 4x4
    Through the rural back roads of Costa Rica you will appreciate impressive views of Los Santos forest reserves. You will have several opportunities to see 7 different altitude planes from Los Santos to Manuel Antonio & discover the diverse vegetation that is abundant in our country. You will cross rivers and mountains in a fully equipped 4x4. This is a ride you'll never forget!
  • Day 5 Manuel Antonio Excursion
    Details: Manuel Antonio National Park guided visit
    Take a tour of this national park with your Tour Director who is certified as a professional, local guide. Manuel Antonio includes 12 islands and is known for its white sands and array of wild life. You will share the park and its four beaches with sea turtles, parrots, three-toed sloths, tapirs, howler monkeys and iguanas. A word to the wise—be careful of the sneaky white face monkeys. They know how to unzip backpacks. The park boasts an estuary, mangroves, a lagoon and paths, one which leads to an observation tower for a 360° view.

    Glide along the still waters reflecting the perfect cone of Arenal Volcano and the surrounding rolling hills. Lake Arenal, the country's largest, is also among its most scenic, and the area has become popular area to kayak, windsurf, sail, fish, and hike.

    Let the volcanoes take you away. At Arenal’s hot springs, bubbling lava fields heat the waters to make nature’s own jacuzzi. Take the chance to rest in the steamy water, or get more adventurous on waterslides, under waterfalls, or in the natural saunas.

    Details: Local Coconut Farm visit
    Stop by a local farm to meet the family living and working there, and then join them in trying a local specialty known as "agua de pipa" --coconut water straight from a freshly picked coconut!
    Details: Poás Volcano
    Sulfurously glowing, the Poás Volcano has been gurgling and burbling since its last major eruption in the 1950s. From the viewing terrace, visitors can look down over 1,000 feet into the world's largest active crater.
