Make a Difference: Morocco

Make a Difference: Morocco
Build a school in a Berber village in the heart of the Valley of the Roses, a delightful mountainous area filled with souks, shops and miles of pink Persian roses. Or customize your own volunteering adventure that mixes in some fun and games, too. Join locals for a soccer match and learn to cook local dishes such as couscous or mrouzia (a delicious lamb dish cooked with raisins, honey and almonds). Before saying beslama (goodbye) to your new Moroccan friends, wrap up your volunteer experience with a camel ride through the Sahara desert, a tour of the landmarks of ancient Marrakech and an exploration of Casablanca’s Berber and French influenced architecture.

Get a hands-on educational experience by giving back. Visit a remote Berber village in vital need of educational support and help build a school for local children. You might find yourself building the roof of a single story building, laying down water pipes or even painting the interior of a classroom. And why not show locals where you come from by making a mural of your state or country on the classroom walls!
