Bio: I’m a tried-and-true Toronto city girl at heart.  I went to an all girl’s high school in downtown Toronto called St. Joseph’s College School with full uniforms, and a nun as the principal.  I’m a big believer of the uniform and I wish I had one for work as I have no clue how to dress myself after years of uniform conditioning at school.  Some people  dress to impress … I dress just to ensure I don’t walk out of the house naked.

For university, I did move to London, Ontario where I studied economics at the University of Western Ontario.  That move made me appreciate the comforts of Toronto with the multicultural influences, the transit system infrastructure, the shopping options, etc.   As much as I appreciated my time living in London’s snow belt where shoveling is unheard of along my path to school and enlightenment … I love Toronto.

The more I travel, the more I appreciate the comforts of home and realize what a great country I live in.  I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to travel all my life and my travel includes visiting England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, China, Brazil, Panama, Belize, Cuba, Jamaica, USA, and within Canada.   I love visiting and discovering a new place, getting lost, and finding my way again.  My biggest discovery was meeting my husband in Cuba almost 10 years ago and to this date he is the best souvenir ever!

My favourite television show is “The Amazing Race” and I always envision myself travelling with my husband as a team… we would be the neurotic and competitive couple screaming at each other (in the most loving way of course).

Although I haven’t had the opportunity to be on the Amazing Race, joining Explorica has definitely allowed me to travel the world.  I have been with Explorica since 2003 and I honestly believe I have one of the best jobs.  Where else can you feel good about giving students and teachers a once in a life time experience while being able to travel and see these beautiful sites?

You then get to exchange stories with people who have a similar passion and that is still considered work!  I am now the program manager for the Explorica Toronto office and I work with an amazing team of bright, dynamic and travel loving people .
