Start at the city's most historic and arresting square, the Plaza de Mayo, where Evita addressed crowds from the balcony of Casa Rosada. The stark Neoclassical cathedral stands nearby; its twelve columns represent the twelve apostles. See the diversity of Buenos Aires' neighborhoods as you tour the barrios of Puerto Madero and Recoleta (where Evita is buried).

Today you will travel to the countryside to visit a "estancia" (ranch) where you will taste the traditional "asado" (barbecue) and try the typical Argentinean drink, the mate. You can enjoy the gaucho's activities such as dances and games. There is a wide range of activities on offer at this authentic Gaucho estancia including guided horse riding, carriage rides, photographic safari and folkloric performances. Top it all off by tasting the typical "pastelitos" (traditional argentinian sweet pies) for desert.

Day 5 La Boca Landmarks

La Boca is the oldest, most colorful, and most authentic neighborhood in Buenos Aires. The neighborhood was settled and built by Italian immigrants that worked in the warehouses and meatpacking plants in the area. La Boca is partly an artist colony, and mostly a working-class neighborhood

Colonia de Sacramento excursion
The historic quarter of Colonia del Sacramento, founded in 1680, evokes old Lisbon with its Portuguese-influenced architecture and winding streets. The area, located in southwestern Uruguay on the Rio de la Plata, was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.
