On the metro heading into Amsterdam town
Welcome to Amsterdam ! We all made it ! It took quite a few connecting flights, bus transfers, metro and streetcar rides, but both groups (one from Virginia, one from California) made it ! The early arrivals already got their first glimpse of Amsterdam's majectic canals (and millions of bicycles) on their way to visit the Rijksmuseum, where works by masters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer are on display. The two groups of travellers met over a tasty supper at Amsterdam's one and only Hard Rock Cafe, after which we retired to our rooms for the action-packed sight-seeing of the city that's awaiting us tomorrow...
