Today we had an early start and a hearty breakfast at Dennis. We left right on schedule which allowed us to stop at Doka Plantation, which was shown in a Discovery Channel documentary called "Best Coffe Plantations of the world". We all sipped cappuchinos and espressos while walking through the plantation's trails adorned with colorful living fences of Lilies and hibiscus.
After getting all wired up on caffeine, we were ready for the Poas Volcano. The timing was perfect because as soon as we got to the summit, the crater opened up disclosing one of the best breathtaking views on the world, then Alberto brought down using the Escalonia Trail so we could appreciate a cloud forest from the inside. On our way down we had lunch at Jualares Restaurante at the Fraijanes area, where we had a home made delicious wood stove cooked Costa Rican mountain cuisine buffett then after lunch Alberto took us throught the scenic route where we had the chance to stop at Zarcero where we tried their delicious ice cream and some gigantic organic donuts, then we proceeded through the Alpine like scenery, until we reached the lowlands of San Carlos where we realized that our Hotel had a prime front view of the majestic Arena Volcano.
