Day 2: June 16, 2009

DAY 2: WELCOME TO FRANCE AND PARIS ! / Hey, hey, hey ! Here they are ! Everybody is safe and sound, no lost luggage. They are all tired but seem to be in a good shape and very enthousiastic though.. So we go !. The tiredness of the flight doesn't seem to prevent them from walking around the old Paris ! But first of all, we drop the luggage at the hotel in Saint-Denis (North of Paris, close suburb), and then a city-walk through Paris (after a successful first experience in the "Métro", Paris subway) : the "Ile de la Cité" first, a glance at "La Sainte Chapelle" and "Notre-Dame" Cathedral and its famous hunchback..., La Conciergerie, the "bouquinistes" (special and typical "book-shops" along the River Seine) and the special atmosphere of the Latin Quarter.. so lovely. And the weather was on our side for this first "taste" of Paris : a hot and very sunny day though it has been raining all days long last week, we're really lucky ! It was so pleasant to take our time and enjoy the sights ! Then we had our dinner ...and a bit of rest for our feet ! Now it's time to have a good night at the hotel, you can be sure they are all sleeping already, to be up for another wonderful day in Paris. So, stay tuned to follow our adventure in France : tomorrow, a bus sightseeing tour with a professional guide to see the essentials of Paris, before heading to Versailles and its magnificent castle ! I'll add the details of the following pictures a little bit later, but you can already see they all have their head, 2 arms and 2 legs.. and a big smile on their faces !
