Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur

Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur

Oh! Champs Elysees...

Pantheon, in the Latin Quarter
We arrived in Paris this morning, all flights were on time and we were transfered to our hotel in the 17th district. We started to feel very parisians already. The group, who arrived early, dropped the bags and took off on the metro to check on the Latin Quarter, grabbed sandwiches and had a picnic in the Luxembourg Gardens. By then, the rooms were ready and they decided to have a rest. The two other groups coming later in the morning freshened up and walked to Place Clichy for lunch in a cafe. We got in the metro and went to Montmartre. The view of the city from up there was beautiful, we could spot some of the monumental buildings. We visited the Sacre Coeur Church and enjoyed some free time by Place du Tertre where the artists sell their artwork. Some of them got portraits done, some went looking for souvenirs. We got back on the metro and got off just by the Arc du Triomphe. Again the views were magnificent and we noticed that the traffic is crazy over here. We all met up
for dinner, after which we walked down the famous Champs Elysees Avenue, the most tired ones making their way to the hotel, while some had time to windowshop. Time to have a good night of sleep to catch up, and tomorrow we had a lot more to see.
