Hello! We all made it...arrived this morning in London Heathrow airport....typical english weather....a bit grey and soggy but we are so happy to be here!!! We got on a coach that took us to the hotel in Central London and dropped quickly the luggage in order not to waste any time. we then took the tube (aka the underground) and made it to the westend -heart of London- there3 we saw Piccadilly circus, Leicester square and Trafalgar square with the famous Nelson column. after that we got some time off in covent Garden where we had lunch and strolled around this busy square. We also managed to do a bit of culture by popping down to the National gallery museum. We admired Van gogh's sunflowers,all the works from the impressionists...and much more! By the end of the afternoon it was time for dinner and we had a traditionnal fish and chips...yummy!!! We rushed to catch the tube back to the hotel...because unfortunately for us there is a tube strike for the next 48 hours starting at 7pm tonight...We then checked in and could finally get some well deserved rest....This way we should beat the jetlag...and be in top form for tomorrow. So much more to look forward to!!
