Day 2: July 1, 2008

Soooo...Europe! We finally land in the Old Continent and are greeted by an English...Sun! We pass by the hotel to quickly drop off our belongings and pay a visit to the loo, and off we are! Our first stop is Trafalgar Square, where we find, other than the usual, boring, Nelson's Column, a CANADA DAY in full swing, with the square loaded with flags and fellow North Americans from across the border. Still, we are eager to get some free time to eat and visit the National gallery. When we meet back we head to Covent Garden, where we are welcomed by live street entertainment. We then transfer to Leicester square, where among a statue of Shakespeare (that we learn was NOT born in London!) and the biggest movie theater in Europe we get the idea to go to the theater tomorrow. After all this running around it is time for a split. Some of us go to Camden Town, where we see things that you humans can imagine not, while others recharge batteries in Leicester Square before running around town setting a new record for places-visited-in-a-short-time. Some even find time to go on a full-scale afternoon tour of the Tower of London. When we meet back, it's a short walk to the restaurant, where we are greeted by a very English Fish&Chips. Belly full and yet unbeaten we found time to visit Piccadilly Circus (no aerialists there, strangely enough) before finally taking the "tube" back to the hotel for a well deserved check-in and a rather needed one-on-one with the pillow. Goodnight!
